Wood Floor Refinishing
There is beautiful original hardwood under a great many Fort Worth homes, and the old-growth timber below fifty years of finish is often better material than anything you can buy new. Refinishing costs less than replacement and honors what is already there.
Sand, screen or recoat
Where the finish is worn but the wood beneath is sound, a screen-and-recoat is a one-day refresh at a fraction of the cost. A full sand back to bare wood is the right call for floors with deep scratches, pet damage, water staining, or a color you are ready to move on from. We will tell you which one your floor needs.
Dust containment as standard
We run dust-containment sanding equipment, seal the work area and vent it to the outside. It keeps the rest of your home clean and makes the whole process far easier to live alongside.
Color and sheen, sampled on your floor
A sanded floor is a blank canvas. Stain can shift it warmer or cooler, or take red oak much closer to white oak. Sheen changes the whole character of a room — satin and matte read contemporary and hide everyday marks, while semi-gloss reflects more light and reads traditional. We sample stains on your actual floor, in your actual light, before anything is committed.

Questions
What people ask us about refinishing
- How many times can a hardwood floor be refinished?
- Solid hardwood typically takes four to six full sandings across its life. Engineered depends on wear-layer thickness, so we measure before we sand and tell you exactly what you have to work with.
- Do I need to move out during refinishing?
- For a full refinish most people stay elsewhere for a few nights while the coats cure. A screen-and-recoat is far quicker and much easier to live around.
- How long before I can put furniture back?
- Light foot traffic in socks after about twenty-four hours, furniture back after several days, and rugs down last — usually two to four weeks, so the finish cures fully underneath.
